The City of Edmonton is going through its first comprehensive overhaul of the Zoning Bylaw in over 60 years. Renewing the bylaw provides an opportunity to align city-building tools to offer greater flexibility, affordability, housing choice, and density. The new zones will reduce the timelines for the rezoning process and integrate technology to reduce approval timelines. The Zoning Bylaw Renewal represents an essential shift in municipal thinking. It will set the framework to grow and invest in our communities and build sustainable homes for future generations.
