October 2022 Reno Month Project - Catholic Social Services
In support of Renovation Month, Renovator Committee Members are embarking on a project with Catholic Social Services to renovate the basement in one of its facilities.
About the Charity
Catholic Social Services is working hard to end violence against women by helping break the cycle of abuse and uplift women and children as they transition into their new lives free from abuse. They provide safe and confidential accommodations, counselling, parenting supports, childcare facilities, and various classes and workshops designed to support healing and help women rebuild their lives.
About the Project
This project includes renovating the basement area of a supportive/transitional house for young mothers, many of whom are escaping domestic violence, homelessness or are refugees. The renovation will bring functionality to the space by turning the basement into an area that is safe, warm and welcoming for new moms and children.
