Nam Kular

 City of Beaumont

Hello, my name is Nam Kular and I have been happily married to my beautiful wife, Raji, for over 13 years. We have two boys, aged 6 and 11 years. Our family has made Beaumont our home for over 6 years. Before becoming an entrepreneur in greater Edmonton’s real estate market in 2015, I had been professionally employed for 10 years as a Project Controller with a large multinational industrial construction company in Alberta’s energy sector. After moving to various cities with the company, including Omaha, Nebraska, to gain more business experience, we decided to settle in Beaumont to build our real estate business and to raise our family. 


After graduating from McNally High School, I had gained early business experience in our family enterprise. I had put my further studies on hold for couple year to run the business, and later I went back to school and graduated from NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) in Business Management (2006). I played on the Ooks soccer team as an extracurricular activity, and I remain an active Alumni member. Besides playing competitive soccer, I have been volunteering for over 10 years to coach with various association and clubs.

How will you support the Beaumont's competitive advantage and market affordable housing? How do you see fees, levies, taxes and municipal cost control playing a role in housing affordability? Note: CHBA-ER refers to “market affordable housing” as housing that is market priced and meets the general requirements of affordability based on household income. Market affordable housing may include market rental housing and market home ownership.


  • Help to attract high-growth potential businesses to capitalize on investment in the Beaumont Innovation Park
  • Promote family-friendly residential development for people of all ages, especially children and our seniors.

What steps do you believe are necessary to reduce red tape and support business investment in the residential construction industry?

Build a transparent and efficient licensing and permitting platform for homeowners and businesses

Do you support welcoming a diversity of housing types throughout Beaumont?

Absolutely, we need to cater to all types of housing for all types of families and buyers
