Over 30 years experience in the Finance. Experienced Executive leader with Senior Finance Officer experience and a demonstrated history of working in the Alberta Government and leading Corporate services functions. Skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, Strategic Corporate Planning, Financial Planning and Reporting, Analytical Skills, Government, Public Speaking, and Management. Strong finance professional with a Corporate Executive Development Program focused in Canadian Government and Politics from University of Alberta.


How will you support the Strathcona County's competitive advantage and market affordable housing? How do you see fees, levies, taxes and municipal cost control playing a role in housing affordability? Note: CHBA-ER refers to “market affordable housing” as housing that is market priced and meets the general requirements of affordability based on household income. Market affordable housing may include market rental housing and market home ownership.

 

I want to review the process in the Planning and Development division and see where we can reduce red tape and possibly reduce or eliminate some fees. I would also like to see a certain percentage of new homes constructed be affordable housing.

What steps do you believe are necessary to reduce red tape and support business investment in the residential construction industry?

A detailed review of the Planning and Development division with input from industry as to what are some of the road blocks. 

Do you support welcoming a diversity of housing types throughout Strathcona County?

Definitely, I believe the diversity of housing will continue to make Strathcona County a destination of choice for those looking to move here. 

Is there anything about your platform that you think CHBA-ER members should know?

I am a firm believer in public engagement, so I would be willing to meet with your organization to see what some of the issues are.
