Prairie Housing Starts to Rise in 2012 and 2013

Calgary, February 13, 2012 – According to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s (CMHC)
first quarter 2012 Housing Market Outlook, Prairies Highlights report released today, housing starts in
the Prairie Provinces are forecast to rise to 42,650 units in 2012 from 38,818 in 2011. In 2013, new
home construction in the Prairies will rise to 43,450 units.
