Final Red Alert: National Energy Code For Buildings

If you build large buildings, this new Code could have a major impact on your business. To help you to make your voice heard, the CHBA has prepared a Roadmap. Don’t delay taking action.

The Public Consultation will close on November 26, 2010. You can review the proposed new Energy Code on the Canadian Code Centre website. Click here to link to the public review documents.

Part 1 of the Roadmap, which was sent to you in September, deals with the requirements for the Building Envelope and Lighting. To view Part 1 of the Roadmap click here.

Part 2 of the Roadmap, which was sent to you in October, deals with the requirements for HVAC and Service Water Heating. To view Part 2 of the Roadmap click here.

The purpose of this note is to provide you with Part 3 of the Roadmap that deals with how to submit your comments on the new Code. This document also contains a section on corrections and clarifications. To view Part 3 of the Roadmap click here.

There will be a conference call on Wednesday, November 10th for those who want to discuss their comments and concerns. If you wish to participate, please provide your email address to Don Johnston (johnston@chba.ca) by Friday, November 5th and he will provide you with the call-in instructions.
