Feds Looking to Replace Infrastructure System that's Short on Cash

OTTAWA — The government is set to begin a consultation process with the provinces, territories and municipalities to develop a long-term infrastructure program to replace a national infrastructure building program that expires in 2014.

Infrastructure Minister Denis Lebel, standing in the shadow of an Ottawa bridge still under construction, said the new consultations will examine the Building Canada Plan's successes and failures over the last four years to determine where to go in the future.
