

The most important budget discussion in Edmonton isn’t the current city hall deliberations, where city councillors and administrators haggle over which roads, pools and other projects should be funded and which should not be.
Instead, the crucial budget discussion is the one perking behind the scenes, where the mayors of Alberta’s two biggest cities, Edmonton’s Stephen Mandel and Calgary’s Naheed Nenshi, are working on a new deal for Alberta’s cities with Premier Alison Redford.
